A number of studies have sought to ascertain whether certain foods raise or lower an individual’s risk of getting cancer. Sadly, various studies have had inconsistent findings, so it is difficult to know what impact foods or dietary supplements have on the risk of cancer. A prevalent issue is that when studies determine that people who eat more of a specific food appear to have reduced rates of a certain cancer, it can be problematic to say whether those individuals also were different with regard to other risk factors, including their area of residence, their smoking or alcohol consumption habits, and so on. Often, when a measured trial is done, and people are randomly given an ostensibly helpful food or supplement, the studies do not show a positive effect.
That said, however, what’s globally acknowledged is the fact that foods rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber can lower the risk of different types of cancers manifold. Studies suggest that the incidence and prevalence of cancers may be preempted by consuming good amounts of vegetables, nuts, and fruits. Exercise, in addition to a proper diet, plays a vital role in preventing the life-threatening disease.
